I look at the recruit training page alot and see where recruits get stationed and on the page every week there is like 5 to 10 people that got discharged before the end of training. could any body answer what most this is all about. i leave in oct 30. I have told the truth on everthing and have nothing to hide. but just wondering if there is one thing that gets most people discharged. And my second question about the ADC do they really look at this or do u go anywhere. It really dosent matter to me Ill go anywhere but would like district 7. thank for any help
From my recent experience in boot camp there are a number of reasons that there were recruits discharged. Some just couldn't hack it and wanted out, others had medical issues, (i myself got stress fractures in both feet but perservered, and stayed on the ward long enough to heal and make it through) and others failed their drug test. Those were some of the reasons I saw people get discharged for. I think they do look at the ADC, a number of people got what they wanted, I got a small boat station on my list, not my top choice, but still on the list.

1. Failure to adapt to military lifestyle 2. Injuries while at Cape May 3. Undisclosed med issues that rear their nasty head during training. 4. Positive urinalysis 5. Discipline 6. Can't pass PT/Swim test no matter what
Of course the non-rate detailers look at the ADC. Why would you waste time filling one out. The Coast Guard would like to try and get you where you want, sometimes it happens, makes for a happier Coastie. If you are realistic in your expectations, it may work out you get to go where you want at some point in your career. After 15 years I have no complaints. CPO Kalbach
