What happened to the dental benefits we were promissed??? I served in Viet Nam and when discharged was told I had on going health benefits that included dental. I am now in my 50's and needed to use my health benefits for the first time. I was quite surprised at the good quality of medical care I received for my blood preasure. But then I had a serious dental problem and need a tooth pulled before the infection causes brain damage. When I contact the VA about this, I was told the dental benefits were cancelled unless you were a POW or medal of honor recipient! Why was I never notified about this removal of benefit/coverage?? I paid my own way for everything until I became 55 and now when I need the assistance that was promissed me during my service to my country, my coutry turns its back on me! How can I get help before the infection reaches my brain and kills me or worse, causes mental damage?????

I understand some VA locations have reduced their dental appointments because of personnel.

Here in MO we get excellent dental care. You do have to be 100% or 100% IU.

Sorry you are not able to get care. Are you 100% disabled with the VA??
