Can anyone explain to me WHY the VA's are treating transsexual's and transgender people when the government is saying we don't have enough money to take care of our returning Vet's and other veterans?????
Just as a post script to my posting. I was seeing my Dr. and told her about seeing my first he/she in Tucson and her reply was she was probably one of her patients and that she had several that she was treating at that particular VA. Blew me away.
It does if we (VA) paid for the meds and physc eval and everything else involved. That isn't what the Veteran's Hospitals are supposed to be set up for or maybe I am just an uninformed Vet that still believes that Vets with military related issues and not issues that have nothing to do with protecting our Country should have the best that our government can offer them.

So you believe that only military related issued should be treated at the VA? I personally believe that a Vet should be treated for whatever they need at the VA.
Plus, how do you know it was a transgendered person who was being treated and not just a damn ugly girl? Were you doing pecker checks or did you just assume?
I never assume the Marine Corps taught me what that does to both of us.
And no I don't believe only military related issues should be addressed however, the military has never abided gays much less transgenders so why are we having to pay for those types of issues?????
My Doctor is a Gynecologist any other questions?

I don't know. This is not a topic for this forum. The VA has rules on who they will treat and for what. The VA also must follow HIPPA privacy laws in connection with medical care. That means that your doctor can not talk about other patients. If you feel that this is an issue you want to peruse, write your Member of Congress.
