If you are going to be treated by the VA health care system, you need to understand that you are in a system that designed years ago. The VA has destroyed my life and I do not stand alone here. Since going to the VA I have been experimented on, my confidentiality has been constantly violated, my medical records have been given less security than the trash they throw out. When you try to be your own advocate, they do everything they can to undermine your credibility. They deluge you with multiple appointments that you can't keep, especially with the cost of gas. You get multiple doctors telling you different things and you don't know who to follow. Then they become accusitory of one thing or another. They take NO responsibility for messing us Vets up (and they mess up alot!). Please stay away from them if you can! If you can't....document EVERYTHING!!!!!!! I can prove what I'm saying here. I TOO HAVE BEEN MESSED AROUND. I HAVE BEEN IN THE SYSTEM FOR 26 YEARS AND HAVE HAD MY UPS AND DOWNS WITH THEM. LAST TIME WAS IN FEB. OF THIS YEAR. ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL WITH CHEST PAINS RAN TEST AND HEART CATHERIZATION THAT SHOWED HEART OK. DISCHARGED CALLED FEE BASE LIKE I WAS TO DO. THEY BILLED MEDICARE. VA WON'T PAY BECAUSE MEDICARE PAID FIRST. VA IS MY PRIMARY FOR EVERYTHING. NOW I'M LOOKING AT ALL THE BILLS THAT COME IN WITH IT.
