Did you park your professional books?? That doesn't count against your weight.

They tried to nail me on my FINAL move, but I got out of it.

Wray - I still can't believe you convinced them that comic books and coloring books shouldn't be waived, but I guess you are an old fashioned Boatswain's Mate! Big Grin

I received an overage letter a few months ago for last years move. Make sure they have subtracted your pro gear. On mine they did not I contacted the POC at the number provided on the PAA and provided the paperwork that stated how much pro gear I had and we were all good.

The weight you are allowed to move goes by Pay Grade and with or without dependents.....Can't help by just knowing you have dependents. Sorry.

iuamkaus,
If my memory serves me right....on leave and don't have the manuals with me I think your weight is about 9,500 or 10,500 lbs. I know as a first I had 11,500 pounds so using that as an estimate. Hopefully that helps. Here is a website that I found but it seems to be old numbers. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/assignments/l/blpropweight.htm

Don't forget to ask those weight questions at the time of delivery and get paperwork to show what they say you have. If you are over then make sure you sign everything on the delivery paperwork that says you want a re-weigh (at that point of an empty truck unless you get them before they start).

On my last move this summer they tried to say that they were delivering 24,000 plus pounds and had weigh tickets showing that. But on the re-weigh it ended up being 15,000 pounds. I'm still waiting for their answer as to how the numbers were that far off or what they really weighed and attempted to bill me for.

If you wait long enough, or stall them long enough sooner or later your paperwork will end up in the $hitcan.
