i'm currently looking at a mutual with a member at a surf unit not desiring to be in the PSP. in my opinion this is a unique situation. The PSP manual states any member not desiring to become a surfman that is currently at a surf unit (any rated BM will be considered as in the PSP) will need to notify thier command and submit a e-resume. what do you think the chances of me submitting an e-resume to enter the psp at that unit and he indicates he wants my unit and rather than a mutual, we get orders cut for a PCS. he has 1.5ys left in billet and i have 2.5, i'm trying to look outside the box. however on that note what are the chances if we do not do the mutual that they'll put someone else in that position??? i'm prepared to conduct the mutual but trying to see if anyone has ever seen this situation!!

If you really want that job I would mutual to get it.

If I were you I would take the mutual. Trust me on this one.

Or on the flip side you could be like me do a mutual and get the call from the detailer saying that he is short touring you because you are making BM1 after he just cut you orders for your mutual....

i hear ya senior, i'm just waiting on the paperwork to go through on my side, just had that as a thought and wanted to get some insight! however i wish the feet dragging would give, i'm trying to be patient however it's running thin

i'll take my chances, when i pass the dwo, i;ll still have to compete and then wait for the cut! at least i'll be on the left coast where there are more surf units.
