I opened a 6 month cd @ 5.41 and a money market @ 4.7 with Wachovia. Is there any thing that other people have done without risking too much. I already have a roth. I'm kinda scared to dabble in stocks.
A mutual fund is technically 'dabbling in stocks', but the investment is spread out in such a way that you don't take such a hit if one particular company falls apart. I used to keep all of my funds in CDs and had a similar distrust of stocks, but I have pretty much switched everything over into mutual funds. There is higher risk, but there is also a far higher potential return.
