Does anyone have any info on reservists being able to write-off internet expenses due to the required on-line training that many of the rerserves need to do at home?

I think you may run into a problem as you can also do it online at the unit. No requirement to do it at home.
However...you may be able to deduct PART of the expense, not the full amount, for taxes. This is one I would ask an accountant who is well versed in IRS law. |

I don't know about you guys out in CA, but our time is so strapped with required training and trying to meet a years worth of u/w time in just 6-7 months, there is very little time to do it at the unit. And even if there was, trying to get 16 reserves on 6 'puters on a wknd is quite a task, especially when the YN's have two of them lock up all wknd to do their stuff. This message has been edited. I posted my reply on www.cgchiefs.com
I don't think it will fly... instead of asking here, you need to ask a CPA. Wray... |
