Anyone have the current info on retiring? Most likely this is a YN question, any current YN's feel free to answer.

1)How many days of permissive orders for job hunting/house hunting do you get coming from an inconus unit? Is it still 10 days incous, 30 days outconus?

2)Can you still finsih your last 2 weeks at a unit closest to where you plan on retiring?

3)If you enlisted in FL, but are an AK resident, is your HHG shipment paid for to FL or your state of residence if you are going back to that state?

For planning purposes, if the retirment date is approved for Oct 01, with 60 days LV, 10 days Permissive orders, and 14 days at a unit closest to your retirment location, can I expect my last day at my current unit to be OOA July 04?

And yes I know to contact my YN or admin folks, and I will, I just want to get my ducks in a row here.

Also I would get myself to a TAPS class. there is a wealth of information available to you. I would also recomend you dig into the manuals and and figure out on your on. As for HHG you can send them to the place of your choice.
