Can anyone explain to me that when you retire. How long can you draw retirement. Is there a limit in years, ect.? I have no idea where to look for information that would spell out the actual time to pull retirement.

I've been drawing mine since 1973. If you truly are a Warrant I don't understand why you don't know this. Heck, I knew the answer when I enlisted at the ripe age of 17.

Stan, it is hard to believe a CWO wouldn't know this.... Let's keep in mind he is in the Army, and perhaps in the reserve....

Good point. I was thinking, basically, the same thing.

Any one should know the answer to his question. Especially him.

Beware!

Uninformed! There are 3 types of people in this world.
1 - Those who make things happen;
2 - Those who watch things happen; and
3 - Those who wonder what the F#@! happened.

If a CWO is uniformed of something like this, where you think he falls? And if he is legit, I hate being a subordinate of him looking for advice and mentoring!

David,
Welcome... actually it doesn't drive me crazy... I may find it a bit annoying....but... I also like to know to whom I am talking. (just a manners thing I was taught as a kid) I also don't bite... I may have a different opinion, but then again we all have and are entitled to our opinions.. and that is what this site is all about.

Once again, Welcome.

Wray... Cool

I have a quick question.. I was talking to a wife the other day and she started telling me that when her husband retires that he will be getting 65% for 20yrs or 85% for 30yrs. When I said I thought it was 50 and 75. She said that since her husband is a officer they get a higher percentage. I was just wondering if this was correct info because it was the first time I ever heard this. Thanks for your time
Respectfully,
Brooke

retirement % are based on time and only time. Officers get no additional money just because they are officers.

once upon a time Enlisted members got an additional % for good conduct but that went away decades ago.

...and you are one of the only guys left who are old enough to still qualify, right? (assuming you kept out of trouble, which might be a stretch!)

You got an extra 10% for good conduct. Still gaining 2.5% for evry year over 20. That's why so many got out at 26.5 years with the full load of 75%. Don't remember when the cut off was.

Members entitled to the extra 10% for good conduct could retire with 26 years of service and receive the retirement pay of a member retiring with 30 years of service.

...close, but it would be 75% of two different numbers due to the pay charts, right?
