I have been thinking about starting the application process for buying my first home, I have been searching around at some properties on the internet.
I came across a place that I really liked that was priced VERY reasonably. I believe it would probably appraise for more then its being listed for.
Anyways, the home has a brand new remodeled kitchen but no appliances. I don't have the money sitting around to fork over for all new appliance, is there any way that this can be rolled into a VA loan?
I will obviously check with my Realtor and lender once/if time gets closer to buying the home, but for now I am still just thinking and browsing.
In most places you cannot get a mortgage unless the house has appliances (except maybe a refrigerator) so the owner may have to make sure those are there. Check with your realtor for your state rules..
I am no agent or anything, but I would suggest that is what NEGOTIATIONS are for. Make an offer contingent on the current owner installing appliances that suit your desires. They may counteroffer for a higher price or they may jump at the sale.
I think it can be taken care of as part of the negotiation as Mighty stated. It should work as long as the appraisal will cover it but ask your question here: http://forums.military.com/eve...ms/a/frm/f/562194293. I have one under contract now, a 95% renovated townhouse that's missing a couple of doors, some torn screens, no washer/dryer....
The seller is taking care of all of it, bringing the renovation to 100%, even though he is priced at $60K under market value!
Your agent should be able to get you what you need...doesn't always work out, but if you ask for everything in your offer you just might get it. It all depends on the motiviation of the seller.
