I know there is a 2.0 kicker for surfman, but is there still a .5 kicker for coxswain?

2.0 multiple for BM2 and above, 2.0 kicker for surfman competencies, no kicker otherwise. See ALCOAST 304/07 for specifics.

I think I found my own answer in ALCOAST 283/06

BOATSWAIN MATES ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN SRB THAT POSSESS ANY OF THE OTHER COXSWAIN COMPETENCY CODES BEGINNING WITH THE CXN PREFIX WILL
RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL ONE-HALF (0.5)KICKER ADDED TO THEIR SRB
MULTIPLE. FOR EXAMPLE, A BM2 WHO IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE AN SRB MULTIPLE OF TWO (2.0), AND POSSESSES THE CXNSX COMPETENCY CODE, WILL RECEIVE A TOTAL SRB MULTIPLE OF TWO AND
ONE-HALF (2.5).

Yes I do feel better, because I did't have to rely on a washed up retired Chief to look up the answer for me. Which probably would have been wrong anyway.

well i hate to burst your little bubble but the new alcoast 304/07 states that they did away with coxswain kickers EXCEPT for surfman. alcoast 283/06 is from a year ago and the latest alcoast from which the member above stated is correct. check your resources before posting next time!!
goodluck

No where on that ALCOAST does it state that they did away with the .5 kicker. A phone call just cleared up the confusion anyway. Yes, the .5 kicker still exists.

Read the entire ALOCAST prior to posting next time!!

It does say however that alcoast 304/07 is in effect as of July 16th 2007 and does not mention a .5 kicker for a coxswain qual except surfman qual codes. alcoast 283/06 is no longer in effect.

BOATSWAIN MATES ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN SRB
THAT POSSESS ANY OF THE OTHER COXSWAIN COMPETENCY CODES BEGINNING
WITH THE CXN PREFIX WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL ONE-HALF (0.5)
KICKER ADDED TO THEIR SRB MULTIPLE.

The statement above is not added to the new alcoast so it is no longer in effect.

3. THE SRB MULTIPLES PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED IAW REF A(alcoast 283/06) REMAIN IN
EFFECT UNTIL 15 JULY 2007. THE NEW SRB MULTIPLES LISTED BELOW
BECOME EFFECTIVE 16 JULY 2007

A. BOATSWAIN MATES WHO POSSESS ANY OF THE SURFMAN COMPETENCY
CODES (CXNNLBS, CXNSJ, CXNSK, CXNSM, OR CXNSU) WILL RECEIVE AN
ADDITIONAL TWO (2.0) KICKER ADDED TO THEIR SRB MULTIPLE. FOR
EXAMPLE, A BM2 WHO IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE AN SRB OF TWO (2.0) AND
POSSESSES THE CXNSJ COMPETENCY CODE WILL RECEIVE A TOTAL SRB
MULTIPLE OF FOUR (4.0).
