I’ve been seeing things about people receiving a bonus at enlistment if you have a degree. I don’t have a degree but I am a licensed EMT-B by the state of Texas and was wondering if their is anything to gain at enlistment for a skill such as that.

Yes there is something to gain! The personal satisfaction that you have an above average capability to assist those in distress.

Not to mention that you will be able to help out your bretheren among the broken arms and legs that are routine in boot camp.

Ironguy: There are some bonuses for healthcare types in the reserves - I don't know too much about it though - you'll definitely want to talk to your recruiter. For more info you can check out: Alcoast 064/07

Really, if you join because of a bonus then don't waist your time.... However, if you decide to join based on the want to serve in our CG and then find out you get a bonus then cool!!! If it is a bonus that will convince you to join the military, the Army will give you lots of money to live their way of life.... in Germany or Korea right off the bat! Quality of life is better in the CG, in my opinion, and if there is a big bonus then there is usually a reason..... Like no one wants to do it?
