Hello.

What is the entitlements when an army and air force member are married, not stationed together...they are both currently living in the dorms, but the Army guy is being told he needs to recieve BAH and move off base. the AF girl however has not been told she needs to move off base and recieve BAH. Can he deny the BAH and stay on base or whats the regulation to this case? He is stationed in New York and shes stationed in Texas.

Please Help!!!!

You are asking about US Army and US Airforce POLICY on a CG themed message board. Who gets to live in service provided housing and who doesn't is not a matter of law, but of policy. Each service, each base as a matter of fact can have different policies in regard to who gets to live in Gov't housing. Barracks are gov't housing.

AIRMAN there is no need to shout at the Master Chief (E-9).

The rules for BAH are fairly similar, with member to member marriages without dependants IF the member is living on the economy they would each collect single BAH for their duty station. If you want to look up the rules they are contained in the JFTR U10204, or you could check with your servicing personnel office.

A1C;
As the CDR (LTCOL) said, the JFTR will specify what their BAH will be if they are not in GOV'T housing, which is the same across all services. Your question had to do with the regulations regarding him being allowed to 'turn down' or 'deny' BAH and basically 'demmand' a barracks room. Those regulations DO differ by service. If you want to know the Coast Guard Regulations, the answer is NO, he can not turn down BAH if he is told to move out. Gov't housing, especially Unaccompanied Housing has prioroties that differ slightly at every CG Base depending on the need and availability.

Now, if you want to know that Army Base's housing policy, the HUSBAND probably has a copy of it in the nightstand, right next to Gideons.

Of course the young Solider or Airman could always contact their Sergeant First Class or Master Sergeant or if the case warrants it their Command Chief Master Sergeant or Command Sergeant Major, as the case may be and ask them to intervene.

Master Chief, you are definitely more patient than I.
How completely disrespectful this person was, even when asking for assistance.
FYI Airman, we have BARRACKS in the Coast Guard as well.
