So..I've been in the Coast Guard Reserves a whopping 10 minutes or so... or something like that! Wink

Anywho, the Yeoman, helped me fill out the travel form because I had no clue. So...I mail off my travel stuff and finally get paid. And whoa...I'm missing a lot. Like my miles and tolls which is $700 or so. Reason they gave is because block 16 wasnt checked (owned or passenger POC). Well the yeoman had walked me step by step so, not that I meant to miss that block he just didn't say to check it.

Anyways....my real question is I will be contacting PSC tomorrow but is their like an amendment to be filed? Or something that can be done?

Yes, you can do a supplemental travel claim. Your YN may be able to help you with it if they have time. These kinds of things happen, so don't get too frustrated about it. It's always a matter of something simple like the checked box. If your YN is busy, try another member that has experience doing travel claims. Just make sure that you keep your receipts in case you get an audit.

Anyone that knows me can tell you I'm the last person to ever defend a yeoman on anything, and this isn't meant as a criticism but as a suggestion: your pay is your responsibility, so you should make a point to go over every pay and allowance form with someone who is an expert, block by block, don't accept a "don't worry about this block" or "always skip this" without a why. Never accept a "don't read it, just sign here". I did that once when I had been in the army almost three months and it ended up costing me seventy five cents - being half Scottish it wasn't the principal, it was the money.

Here's another suggestion:
Before you call PSC, do what you should have in the first place and research what you were/are entitled to. All of the information about pay and benefits is readily available these days so there is no excuse in not knowing at least as much as who you are talking to.
