I finally realized it's time to put some money aside for when I separate. I looking in ROTH IRA's or the TSP. I've sat down with a investment professional who's trying to sell me the ROTH, but most of this stuff is all german to me. I'm just curios to see what the general feelings are (pros and cons) of the two. Thanks in advance.

This has already been well-discussed at http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2011913796/m/9010028011001.

This mostly depends on your your current tax status, and where you see your tax status upon retirement.

Tell you what, both are good because the important decision here is that you are going to put money aside for tomorrow! The other stuff technical stuff is all good but at the same time it all depends on the economy.

If you are looking at investment options, I highly recommend that you read "The Wealthy Barber". It will answer nearly every question you have about investments.

Good luck
