I was looking at my ASVAB test results and saw that I was 2 points shy of being eligible for MST. Is it possible to get a waiver for those two points or do I have to take the whole ASVAB over again?
Now looking at my test scores it says the required MK for MST is 56
I got 55! so I missed it by ONE point actually!! argh. someone on another thread said that if there is a minimum (like MK=56) then I cant get that waived! MST looks like the perfect fit for me! I have even talked to one!
I just dont want to have to retake the WHOLE ASVAB..
Im hoping if I get to my first duty station and work my BUTT off..My CO can waive my ONE point..
Only HQ (MSTCM Hooker and CG-13) can waive that single score requirement. COs may only waive multiple score requiremnts (like an AR+VE). It is not unheard of to get that waiver, but you had better have your Chief on your side. It also never hurts when your command endorsement mentiones that you have been studying the indicated area (in this Case, Math Knowledge).
You can retake the one section of the ASVAB to improve your score. Talk to your ESO. Making the investment in yourself by studying and retaking that section would show your commitment to your goal. You can find ASVAB study guides at most book stores and it's likely you might even find a JO at you unit who might be willing to tutor you so they can get a "developing subordinates" bullet. Best of luck to you! Cheers!
