I am drill sergant for my JROTC class. I am a freshman and a first year cadet. Today we were marching and my class commander picked me to be drill sergeant. Does anybody have any tips for me because drilling and marching is new to me. Thanks.
I'm C/Cap Smith, I'm the Drill Team Commander for our unit (TX-083) and my advice is to be loud, don't yell, but be loud. You need to learn how to use your diaphram when you give commands... also take a look at AFM 36-2203 (Drill and Ceremonies) It will be your friend. I promise
Couple of pointers - Read the D&C book -Work on your command voice, I judge a commander a lot by their command voice, don't scream but don't have it so low that your flight expects you to say please after commands. - Get approval from your ASI on your abilities and always ask for tips on improving
