I was the rank of Cadet Col. and a commander in my unit back when I was in AFJROTC. It was the best time I had in it. Here is a picture of my rank & ribbons and award.

I am sorry that you can't earn the highest rank of C/Col. in your unit. It was not an easy thing to earn. All your grades needed to be up, and there are always a few who think that you should not have earned it. A lot depended on your how many were in your unit and your aerospace instructor. Who had the final say in it. It was a high Honor as well as a lot of responsibility. And with going to leadership school and being active in your unit. But all this paved the way into going into the active service. My thinking back on it now how much more that I could have done and went on into more schooling to be a Officer in the service. But my choice at the time was to join the Military as soon as I can. So I went into Basic Training and received rank after I made it. It was a Honor to become a soldier. And I still feel that way today.
