Has anyone done this? My mother was telling me that since we can't paint in housing, that I could try starch and fabric to wallpaper my walls, to give them some color. I'm not exactly crafty. Could someone post some pictures, and tell me how this worked out for you(did it actually stay on the walls, or did you have to keep putting up, etc)

you won't know until you get to wherever if you can even alter the walls in any way shape or form.. We couldn't in Monterey.

You can do a search on Google. The way I've heard of it being done is to use liquid starch. You wet down the fabric in the starch and then put it up on the wall, use a squeegee to smooth it in place and let it dry. That's a short description, but I've seen it online.

Thanks! It sounds like the perfect solution for the military family since it's temporary and won't damage the walls/paint job. She watches a lot of HGTV. I just want to make our next home as "homey" as possible. I didn't do much where we are now, because it was "very temporary". I have seen some of the pictures on the internet and they are gorgeous, but done by professionals, I just kind of wanted to know the details on whether or not it actually stays until you take it down.

That I'm not sure on. I wonder how humidity might affect it.
