I went to AIT at Fort Gordon in 1966 , just wondering do they still have those old wooden baracks or did they finally condem them ? Appreciate any info. Thanks

the barracks now are brick, but they look like they were built shortly after you left.

It looks like a concentration camp. Very run down...At least the barracks are.

see the thread Is Fort Gordon really Hell? Definitely a place to be prepared for. Consider leaving your debit card at home too.

I'm not in the Army but married to a soldier. I used to live near Augusta. In 1994 I stayed in those old wood baracks for a week. I was doing training for a community service program run by Americorps. At that time I think reservists stayed there sometimes and they rented them out to groups like Jobcorps. It was HOT in there!

Thanks lovetoshop ,those barracks were hot and the winter I was there it snowed and it was cold. If there not torn down by now I hope they will be soon.LOL
