Ok so I have a question about whether or not I would be required to attend 25B AIT. I am a year from my degree in Computing Technology. I could easily take and pass the A+ and Network+ certifications. I already hold the Security+ cert and I've taken courses on Cisco products (CCNA stuff). So what is required to automatically receive the 25B MOS without attending AIT? I've also worked help desk at Comcast and I am currently a field tech for the local Board of Education. Thanks in advance!

ok I hate to post rumors, but one of the 25B's when I went through said you can test ahead if there is room in the class ahead of you. I have no idea if it is true seeing how I am a 25S.

It is true. I went through with folks that tested ahead. We were MOS-T, not sure about the MOS-I though. This was in 2006.

I came in after spending 7 years working for Microsoft, backed up with almost every cert there was to offer and was able to test out of almost all of the training.

Just had to be there to learn the Army way, which is totally different from the real world way.

You never know until you ask.

With those credentials, why did you join the Army? I am curious.

I definitely understand the former. That's one of the reasons why I joined the Army. Now, I am burned out from my enlistment. I'll take a break in service and ETS next year.
