Looking for anyone that was with this Battalion sometime around late 1967 to 1969 while in Vietam.
Trying to get some information on patch design etc. My father was with this group while in Vietnam
I'm trying to find out where I can get replacement awards that he gave me as a kid, I have some,
just not sure what else I need. I have some patches, just not sure they are the right ones. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mark Williams

Are you sure it's the 181st?

I find no reference for a 181st Sig Bn during the Vietnam war.

That's what my dad said????I think I've herd it was merged into the 4th Signal Batt, but I wouldn't swear to it. I'm almost at a dead end on this one. He was discharged from 416th Sig Co.,Fort Lee Va. His MOS was 36G20 Man Cen Off Rpr, if that helps any.

Still nothing for the 181st.

I do show the 416th Signal Detachment in Vietnam on / or about between Aug 69 to Jun 70. Another shows nothing for the 416th.

The only 181st unit (numerically) is the 181st Military Intelligence Detachment, this is for Vietnam service only.

The 4th Signal Detachment was in Vietnam on / or about between Jan 67 to May 68. Other than that I have nothing for 4 Sig.

Banander27, thanks for your time looking for this. Like you, I haven't found any thing eaither. I'm not so sure that he has gotten the numbers wrong. I wish the DD-214 had more information. He is 64 and and was diagnosed with termial cancer a few months ago, and it is going to the brain, and I think it is starting to mess with a little bit of his memory. Again, Thanks
