There was a small parade field center of the Signal School. 31Ks were on the north side....but it has been a long time. Parade field is probably gone now.

That helps a little, I'm going to have to take a walk around and see if something sparks a memory. The soldiers now go to school all over the place. I don't think there is just one schoolhouse now.

That was when all the buildings were still wooden WWII barracks. When I went back for the advance course they were all gone. I never even ventured across the gully to see if Tile City was still there. Chances were they weren't.

Tile City was used back in the 60s as a holdover company area. For whatever reason, waiting orders, waiting security clearence, etc etc. It was actually the old german POW compound and was made out of tile blocks.

I was down there about three years ago, everything still looked pretty much the same to me, even the old movie theater where me and some of the guys went to see "Platoon" when it came out, if I remember correctly it cost one dollar to go see a movie there back then, I even went to my old barracks, it looked a little differant, the lot out in the front used to be gravel with some concrete tables, now there is grass there, and of course the barracks itself was showing a lot of age, but there again it has been 22 years since I lived there.
