Hello
I am 25U SGT at Fort Drum. We are shading away from the ANCD and focusing on just using the SKL. I think the SKL is going to be a problem, we are already having issues with the database crashing and losing all the COMSEC. I need to know if anyone of you guys know how to fill the ANCD with an SKL, or brigade s6 dont think its possible.
Thanks

the crashing is a known problem there is a fix I will not discuss it here(and I have forgotten it) In the many classes you should have had on this device they discussed this. and you cannot load a DTD with an SKL. I like SKLs anyway.

Hey networkpro, If you dont know how to do it then shut the **** up. No wonder you retired as just an E-5. I tried the signal site, i'm trying all the miliary sites. I dont expect a bravo to understand anyone, so just stick to your computer, nerd.

why don't you try your comsec custodian or division comsec custodian. networkpro knows his **** and you shouldn't be asking on public site. I didnt see your question here landwarriornet so you didn't try everywhere.

Then my young friend you have lots to learn.

Being validated by you isnt one of my life quests. I'd only waste a stream of urine on you if you were on fire just because you might catch something thats useful on fire.

Now if you would look on the front cover of the TMs for both of those pieces of equipment I'm pretty sure you'll see NOFORN in thier distribution as a start.

Hardware comes and goes all the time, as do jugheads like yourself. If you cant figure it out leave it to the pros.

As well as the associated profile picture. The power supply in the picture is missing its mesh cover (which is a deadline item for safety), the mount isnt grounded, and they are missing the right angle BNC connectors for thier antennas. Why do they have a pile of LS-671's lying around ? No spares are authorized below GS.

Oh and that 25Bravo qip ? I was a 31V, 31E, 31U, and 25U. 25U's are today a pale shade of what a 31V was trained to do but that will improve as they are yanked out of line units. The CMF 31 collapse filled whats now 25U with too many unqualified bodies of many levels so they were rapidly identified as duty roster fillers (or radio watch as the picture shows)

Yeah NetworkAmature, I did my share of radio watch while deployed. And for the power supply, hey you got to make do of what you get. I was in an Infantry company on a Company size FOB in the middle of nowhere so having the ****king power supply in reg was the least of my worries. I ran the Traffic Terminal for that FOB, I built the TOC, I configuered all radio and BFT systems for all vehicles. I also went out on all company and battalion missions for direct support for the Commander. I've been on air assault missions and setted up command post on top of mountains. I also was the 50cal gunner for my Commanders truck. I got my CAB in direct fire fights, while you probably got yours sitting in the TOC eating donuts. So yea I pulled radio watch among other things. You should be proud retiring as an E-5, shoot I made E-5 with less than 2 1/2 years in.

And I didnt ? Made my E5 in 1985. Been there done that, was in HHC 1/75th when you were in diapers, was part of the Invasion of Iraq which predates the CABs existance as National Guard while active duty folks were not ready.

So you were so mission critical that you did almost anything but your job...

Oh I'm an amature alright no one can be as great as you by far even though I pull down more in salary than a one star.

he should...btw fix your profile....

From the sounds of it you are locked on in your MOS/additional duties...

but...

Some people in the NG are quite happy without all of the extra crap that an E-6 and above does...they are reserve component members....most have families and jobs that can't take them away to do typical E-6 duties...sqad leader, Plt Sgt...

If you do not know the dynamics about being a reserve member, do your time, get out, start a family, get a good job worth keeping and be a reservist...then let us know how much of your freetime you have lost because some E4 who doesn't show up to drill is now your problem....and you have to call him on your dime and your time to get him to come in...that is just one example...multiply that by 5 or more...not to mention other problems...oh throw in staff meetings beyond the drill schedule...

Some states have E-6s that wont leave and never offer slots to advance....

If I am preaching to the choir, let me know...

I mean really...at least he did put in 20...what does it matter about the rank?

Get a grip.

Former has hit the nail on the head as usual.

Additionally I would add is sometimes you make choices that are the best for your troops and not necessarily the best for your own advancement. In four different units that I was in the majority of the troops I was assigned had zero active duty time outside of Basic and AIT. Thats alot of man hours to expend to bring them up to the minimum levels that they need to be. You also get lots of knuckleheads who are out on thier own for the first time who tend to stumble and need to be picked up.
