Hi everyone--
My husband leaves in july to reclass from 25Q to 25B and we're trying to get a few question answered. He knows Ft Gordon well from his previous AIT but we are interested to know if anyone can answer some of the following questions....
--do they get to live off post or in billets? If they live in the billets do they have the option to get internet?
--Are the NCO's in a class all together or is it mixed rank with NCO's taking leadership roles?
--Does everyone have to participate in the infamous FOB and Capstone?
--Are there any classes online or books that would be helpful to read before attending? Basic Computer Skills? Programming etc?
--Is there a packing list? ATRRS says they need to bring Initial Issue but is there more than that?
He's looking forward to the reclass, but is a little concerned about how to help prepare for the class and how they treat the reclassing soldiers. After twelve years and two deployments I would hate to think it would be like IET all over again, but we know its the army so any help to get prepared would be appreciated!!!! Thanks so much Cool
Feel free to email me directly at lubmy3@yahoo.com
P.S. I know that some of these questions have already been addressed in older discussions but I am hoping to get an updated version since I have heard that they have changed it recently.

Computer savvy...yes. Time...no Razz

Plus I am prior service 25Q so I think he trusts me to ask the right kind of questions.

I was there three years ago. Non IET were in barracks, albeit different ones than the IET soldiers.
Mixed ranks. NCOs took 'cl*** leader' positions. (Thats how my cl*** ran it)
We didnt have FOB, but yes, NCOs did capstone - It wasnt actually that bad, was pretty fun actually
Adaptation is key to 25B AIT.
Initial issue will be fine. Any needed TA-50 will be issued. Might be nice to bring a Gore-tex, because when it rains, it pours.
