When everything else fails, , from nature, an opponent, electromagnetic pulse.....what works the first digital form of communication.

In the Afghan theater it has proven itself in that voice/radio traffic was overheard by guerillas thus exposing our troops. The solution send needed traffic via morse code.

Morse is relevant should be required and trained operators made available service wide.

Ham Radio operators would salute the change and be available to support Military Morse.

Huh ? What portion of left field did that come from ? Ever hear of encryption ? Shielded Electronics ? LRU's ? They even have modern digital encryption for those old GRC-106's. No one is taught Morse these days and it was dropped from 25C (then 31C) in the early 90's.

Methinks you need to read up on the current Harris radios and thier capibilities.

Morse belongs in the history books along with the rusty knee keys.

Kind of related. When I deployed to Iraq, my platoon had Morse Code Interceptors. Great, but we were going to Iraq. For my entire year there, we did not receive any Morse Code messages.

When I finally got linguists, they were Korean. Roll Eyes

The FCC doesn't even require Morse Code for Amateur Radio (Ham) licences anymore.
