how long is the school actually? on my ATRRS, it shows the school length (phase I, common core) as being from Mar9-Apr29, is there a second school after the common core that is not listed on my ATRRS? my MEPS contract said something like 15 weeks or thereabouts.
25Q mos is 18 weeks, this is coming straight from my contract.

I just graduated AIT at fort Gordon, i leave 18Mar09. How long you are here depends on many factors, first of all there is two different tracks meaning you can go two routes "ECB" and "EAC", If you go ECB it will be about 16 weeks but if you go EAC it will be about 20-22. That is just a average but like i said many factors come in play for example you may not get in school right away and other things happening may hem you up like dental, medical, family problems and so forth so just dont think you can lock down a date when you will be finished. I got to AIT 29Nov08 and i leave 18Mar09.
what is the difference between ecb and eac? I leave here at Ft Sill next thursday for gordon, so I guess Ill see then, as an E5, I already filled out my ASK on AKO and volunteered for drill sergeant and instructor duty, so we will see if I get picked up.
How was the AIT? Can you give any details? Also what is EAC and ECB and how are each determined. Feel free to PM me if you like. I head to WTC in April then Gordon for 25Q afterwards.

ECB is which route i went here is the break down on each track.
ECB - 9 Weeks "Common Core" 3 Weeks "Smart-T Training" 5 Days Antenna Training then 6 days of "Mercury Fusion" just a special name for a FTX.
EAC - 9 weeks common core 8 weeks of more training on the LOS shelters then 7 days of Antenna training then 6 days mercury fusion
Which route you go all depends on the needs of the unit you will be stationed at. Almost all National Guard and Reserve always go ECB. Usually out of a class of 20 Soldiers 1-2 will go EAC on average.
Again this is how long the schools are so dont try to set a date i met a few people who where at fort gordon for a month before they got classes.
Just recently they made a company out of just 25Q's a large company at that about 400-500 D551 DeathDealers but if your a MOS-T you'll be in Alfa company.
They dont play in Delta Company keep your nose clean and you'll be ok dont be a **** bag
I am a MOS-T NCO so I have it really easy compared to most it seems, its not bad at all, I only have 1 roommate, my own car here, etc, I should class up this week or next, Im alpha company, so I know nothing about the others, all I can say is that this post is 1000 times better than fort Sill!

cant do it. or it wasnt allowed when I was mos-t there in 2003. from the stories I have been hearing now I dont think the ds's(if they have any) are dropping them now.
nope, no dropping or chewing out/counseling allowed, all we are allowed to do is general spot corrections......no DS's anywhere either, but trust me, they still have the MOS-I's on lockdown.....
......so far from school I have gathered that shelters are pretty much my life from here on out.
lol...well it looks like I am at Ft Gordon for a good long time, I was on ASK today and for my next assignment (on assignment) it shows Ft Gordon with a report date of July 29....woohoo
mos-t is prior service or reclass, mos-i is iet kids. ASK is assignment satisfaction key, once you get to WTC you should be able to log into AKO and it will be an option on the lower right hand side of your AKO homepage, lots of info there when it is available to you. I have been in class for 2 weeks now, you should class up right away after inprocessing which only takes a day or 2.
Excellent, thanks for the info. 5.9! By the way, how was the schedule for running at WTC? Are they running you guys a lot? I have heard that it isn't all group jogs but breaking off and doing sprint drills?
Take care.

25Q used to be 31R. Lenght is based on two assignments after common core wich is EAC and ECB (something like strategic and tactical). I ended up in Fort Drum wich make common core useles. I am a CPN operator (E-5) with an aviation brigade, so take advantage of SMART training. Here we do a little bit of everything 25B and 25U. Currently in COB Speicher, Iraq. Ft Sill and Fort Gordon are not that nice but I pick any of them compared to FT Drum :-((. You can get your E-6 if you complete your points (798).
I would like to request some basic information about the training and duties of a 25Q. Our 18 year old grandson is in the process enlisting and is seriously considering this MOS. Aside from reading up on it there is little information that I can provide him so any insight will be greatly appreciated.
Originally posted by Teknowil: tell him to steer clear unless he plans on reclassing, but then again you probably cant expect to stay the same mos for 20 yrs.
Thanks for the insight. He is considering some 35 series MOS's as well. I suspect that within the next few weeks he will heading off to basic.
