I came across this photo of me in 31C AIT at Ft. Gordon in 1987. I'm the one on the far right. That is Brems Barracks in the background. Can I get a Hooah?

Enjoy:

Great Pics, I was in Bremms Barracks too, B-1-1, 1979.There was a sandpit behind B company we would frequent at 3AM when the drills decided to harass us. Aw well, we survived. My Mos was 72E, which no longer exists I hated those berets, they were hell trying to stay put.
GO ARMY!

Hooah!! I was a 31C at Ft. Gordon in 1985. BREMS!! I have some old pics also. Maybe you remember, but where were the training sites located? I remember we used to have to march that loooonngg trail behind the barracks to get there. The hotter it got, the longer the trail got. I can't remember what we used to call that trail we took, or the route.

I remember that trail. It was behind the barracks, and It was a long march to these trailers where they had the classes set up for AIT. I know it was a miserable march, nothing but that orange dirt everywhere.

Man, talk about a walk in the past. I was at Ft. Gordon in '89 for 31C training as well. Good to know there are folks that actually remember that place and time when there were 31C's. Are there any still in use as back up any more?

With the advent of digital communications, teletype has vanished and single channel voice is very low density. Luckily DA has figured out that there's not enough bandwidth available on Birds, and tropho sucks in the middle of a sandstorm.. so a new generation of Single channel folks running Harris rigs is being fielded. When MSE and tropho was down us folks with the old RT-662's and GRA-50's were chatting from Northern Iraq to Kuwait...

I would LOVE to see recent photos of the place. That trail everybody is talking about ran beside A Co. and when I was there the dust was grey and we ruined our boot shine every single day.

I retired from Ft Gordon 1978, after spending two years there. In those two years the 4th Bn,31M course was on Barnes Ave. We moved down the street towards the theater and then we changed over to an OSUT unit at Brems. I was operations sgt
Brems now has part of an MI Co and the Youth Challenge Academy.

Are the structures in the lower center of the field still shelter mock-ups? I remember playing MSE signal soldier there in the 90s, put up giant antennas in the field to the north.
