I am prior service Navy.Been out two years.I just enlisted in the Army as a E-5 .After WTC I will report to FT.Gordon for 25Q AIT.
Is it me or does it look like 25Q is way over strength for E-5's? I keep hearing there is going to be a change to the MOS.How will this effect advancement?

my signal company has NO e6 25q slots. I think that is across the board army wide. unless these guys are in division or theater hqs. If I were you try to get 25u,B,S

Teknowil,
Thanks for the input. I was afraid of that.I hope I get a chance to reclass at WTC or AIT.
I don't want to be stalled out after already serving 12 years and reaching HYT as a SGT.

When do you head to WTC Tiki? I am headed there April 21st, then on to Gordon for 25Q afterwards.

I headed for WTC 28 Apr.Sadly I'm more excited about going to WTC than AIT. It is definetly going to be a challenge. Can't wait!Looks like you will be there a few days before me.Maybe we will meet and possibly class up at Gordon.

I'm with you. I am not looking forward to it either really...should be an easy school though. I plan on re-classing to something else after a year. Looks like you are going to do the same thing being an E5 already. From what I have researched, there is not a whole lot above E5 in this mos.

I look forward to seeing you at Gordon!

4 sgt's in my class alone! the way the instructors talk in class they make it seem like the Army cannot function without 25Q's

Looking at the date of the post, I could tell that you already finished your WTC or near the end of it. I enlisted 25Q, will go to Fort Leonarwood, then Ft Gordon. Did you already get your PCS orders?

I am in my 2nd week of AIT here at Gordon and my ASK account already has me reporting to Ft. Knox...who would've thunk it! I was actually VERY surprised to even see a report date so soon and have no idea why I did and others who have been here much longer having nothing...go figure.

I don't know a lot about Ft. Knox (lifestyle and potential job wise) really or what kind of unit I may get attached to.

Now we will have to see if it actually sticks...I give it a 50/50 chance.

Did you had the chance to ask for a wish list? Or they just assign you to Fort Knox? Your reply will be gladly apreciate.

from AIT they do not even look at your wish-list, just be prepared to take whatever they give you...Ft Gordon was nowhere near my wishlist, lol
