Basic Training |
I should be attending 25B AIT to reclass, and I was hoping for some intel on how it is for prior-service.
If it all works out I'll be AGR (full-time guard) and I'm a SSG. I'm mostly curious about: Housing Time off (weekends and daily) What mickey-mouse games prior-service has to deal with (morning PT with everyone, details, etc) Thanks. |

Ready for Anything! |
I reclassed in 2002-03. I am NG also. This may be dated material but it shouldn't have changed much. All prior service are put in a seperate company from the intial entry students(first ait) You drive to class, chow ect. They have a barracks for you , I shared a room with another soldier. PT of course. Staff duty, maybe. I had evening classes and seemed they like to call us up for formations just simply because we were around. Like I had one formation at 0400 for shots that I just had 2 weeks prior, of course I was dismissed only to come back a 7a to get the weekend safety briefing. There seemed to be alot of that going on(useless formations). They also don't like you correcting the IET students. Weekends are free, holidays ect. you get in and around mileage too if you fill out your paperwork correctly.
