So, I recently enlisted in the Air Force and I'm scheduled to ship out Feb. 4th for ATC. I just had two quick questions if anyone has the answers. Firstly, can people be DQ'd in basic for bad teeth? No ones mentioned teeth at all and they didn't look at them at MEPS. Just don't want any surprises. Second, does anyone know how likely it is for ATC to get based overseas. Thanks in advance for any responses!
If you've already been to MEPS and passed the physical, then you're good to go as far as your teeth are concerned. Nobody fails BMT because of something like that unless it prevents you from accomplishing everything they do at basic.
ATC is a great job. I did it in the AF and for awhile in the FAA. However, it's NOT for everybody. Keep your head in the books at Keesler.
Here is a list of bases (it may not be completely accurate) where you can be stationed. After you graduate tech school you'll be a "3" level...so you can only be assigned to bases that have a 3 in the right hand column. But, yes, you can be assigned overseas for your first base. How likely? Just like every other AFSC it all comes down to where they need people the week you graduate. There is NO way to predict that...
if you have bad teeth use the dentist to get them fixed while you are in!!!! free orthodontic care if you want it, you see several ad personel with braces
but as said if you have already gone through the process your good to go
