Rod has one of the best prep guides for basic out there. I even lent him one of my stories/advice and he used it in the article.

It speaks about the "Walk, Do Not Run, Use the Handrails !".

Great Place for a sticky !!!!

ALL TRAINEES ARE REMINDED TO DRINK 3/4 to 1 canteen every hour not to exceed 12 canteens a day. On the count of 3 you will sing the air force song followed by the 3 core values. LOUD AND PROUD, ONE TWO THREE!

Ha wow! Even in operational AF do you still joke around about that ****. The canteen thing is the biggest I'd say. Its ridiculous to look back at it and see how funny and to a point silly it was.

WHOA! Flash Back City!!
Just got chills reading and thinking about am revilee over squalk box with TI banging on door to be let in. Scrambling around, using ONE crapper so we would not have to clean the ENTIRE latrine everyday and hiding floor wax in the ceiling tiles.
Anyone else pull a fast one on the next guy up for night watch by only pulling about 3 minutes then waking the next poor sap up?

Berretta,
I never did that, but here is a funny one.

One night while pulling dorm guard, must have been about week 5, the TI came upstairs at about 3:00 AM. He came up quietly and had his finger to his lip, Shhhhhh. He placed his ID on the window, I checked the list and he was GTG. He then held a piece of paper to the window it read. I am all secure, I want to play a joke on that smart aleck (Amn Smith), you won't get in any trouble.

I opened the door and he whispered to me who he was going to get and confirmed he was on the next watch. The TI then proceded to pull the pins out of the door hinges and told me to go along with anything that is going down.

At 0400, I woke up Amn Smith and he took his watch. At about 0445, the commotion started, I heard smith go into his routine. "Sir, Dorm Guard, Dorm 720, May I help you ?" , "Let me in Airman !" , "Sir, may I see your ID ?"

" I left my ID in the car Airman, you know who I am , let me in !" Smith repeats "Sir, may I see your ID?" TI-"I just freaking told you, I left it in the car, I'm your damn TI, Let Me In !!!!!!"

At this time Smith turns away like he is supposed to, I can just see him all cocky, like he always was. I have now gotten out of my bunk and am peering around the corner, along with about three element leaders and a couple other guys. I happen to be the only one smirking, because I know the inside of it.

The TI now is blowing up on Amn Smith, in basics he is telling Smith to open up the bleeping door or he is going to rip the door off the hinges and beat him to death with it !!!!!

Smith then goes to get on the intercom to the CQ desk and the TI grabs the door and off she comes !!!! Smith starts running through the bays yelling "Help !!!" and I swear on the verge of saying "Mommy". The other guys in the barracks are stuck between Awe, Fear and wanting to help, but are rooted to the ground. Me, I am on the floor laughing.

Needless to say, that cocky fearlessness was put in check.

Oh, the stories I have of Basic. Anyone ever figure out the caps on the bedposts fit on the front of the Lackland Laser so you don't shine out the windows at night? Or yelling "Chrome!" everytime you pass by the chrome on the floor? Did you ever get so good that you'd hear the wall speaker turn on right before Reville? Hehe...memories, memories...I'm just glad I don't have to carry around 341's anymore...

No kidding!

What got me the most was when I was at immunizations 5 months ago getting shots for my deployment I came out of the room head on with my TI and almost pissed myself. Been out of BMT for over 2 years and still the first reaction was to snap to attention and squeak out a reporting statement. He didn't remember me but he did laugh his *** off at me...for about 10 minutes.

Oh yes that was always fun in the morning. My TI who was also my section supervisor added on "WHEN ASCENDING AND DESCENDING THE STAIRS YOU WILL UTILIZE THE HANDRAILS, IF YOU DO NOT YOU WILL BE RECYCLED!!"

ABOUT AIRFORCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
As much as the Airforce has taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most consecrated among us. Even as they delivered them unto us, the NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT. It seem good to me also, having had perfect understanding to participate in the new Ph.D degree program for a Doctorate of Philosophy in Strategic Studies at the Air University. Where the Air University will credit in completing the dissertation with a giving the joint professional military education required to serve in the joint force.
While on a FRATERNIZATION relationships with combat experience for the Ballistic Missiles control to intesify the highest lavel of government.
Regards.
