If you're talking about 3N032, I was told today, when I selected my jobs, that it is no longer a first term job. It's also one of the jobs that requires a relativley high ASVAB score: G72 (as compaired to most jobs). Some general info can be found at http://usmilitary.about.com/od/airforceenlistedjobs/a/afjob3n0x2.htm

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's a career airman position now... meaning you have to reenlist to crosstrain into it!

Chiforce... Right off the top its the best job in the AF... Of course I am bias as I am one. Heres the deal. I came into it in beginning of 2005 and it was hard then. Since then we sucked up the 3V0X2 (base videographers) so we are over manned. It use to be that the majority of videographers stayed stateside and broadcasters (3N0X2) went overseas their whole career. Well low and behold the AF snapped their fingers and we are all one now. That means we got base videographers, who never passed a voice audition, as broadcasters now. The cluster *** has just begun. Anyway what means for you is that we are over manned and that only people who want to cross train into it can. If you really, really, really want it... I would go to www.dinfos.osd.mil and email them and tell them your situation. You may be able to ruffle a few feathers and get the Chief of our career field involved. Other options include trying to come in as Public Affairs (although I sense they may be in the same bin as they have merged recently as well) or weather as thats a great resume to have weather and broadcasting. Anyway let me know if you need anything and I will try to help. I am in Kabul right now so my answers will not be real fast! Good Luck!

PS: Do not even think about any of the other services for broadcasting. If you absolutely had to be a broadcaster in another I would say NAVY if your heart is set on it! If you even think about the Army I will not help you anymore!!!!!!!
