My Recruiter said that I would go in as an E-3 (48 College credits). Now where does it say that? Is that going to be in the first contract I sign at Meps (with the liason) or will it be in something I sign later?

If I get to Meps and they try to sign me up as E-1 or E-2, what should I do? Should I just not sign the contract?

There was something I signed with her while doing paperwork that said my highest education was High School, I asked about it and they said not to worry about it. I just don't want to get screwed here.

Thanks.

Also, should I bring transcripts to Meps just in case?

YES! Take your transcripts to MEPS. Your E-3 will be stated on the contract you sign at MEPS (both times). The very first statement in section B will state "...in pay grade E-3..." Also the second time you go, in section E of the supplement it should say "Pay Grade = E - 3".

Thanks UWWR,
Will my recruiter send the transcripts or should I take it upon myself to get them? It's kind of a pain to get them, that's why I ask but will do it if you think necessary. (or just to be safe)

Thanks.

If you gave them to your recruiter, they should be in the packet she gives you when you go to MEPS. Make sure they are there before you leave her office. If they aren't, ask.

No offense to recruiters in here or to yours, But never trust a recruiter to get everything right. They are human and they have a lot of paperwork and other recruits to worry about. Just dont take anything at face value or they're word for granted. I had to reschedule my contract signing twice due to mis-information on my contract or he couldn't get facts straight. He kept confusing info between me and other applicants. It was a pain in the butt, but you have to Check and re-check, and then re-check again. Remember its a contract. Binding on both sides. You can have a PH.D. but if that paper says your going as an E-1, your going in as an E-1. Its up to you to make sure contract is right, not them.

the golden rule: make sure you read EVERYTHING you have to sign and don't skim read!!!

also when you go into basic take all your important docs with you in a folder

Section A and section E, both of these sections list the Pay Grade you are signing on for If you are also signing on for a longer period of time it will be listed in section E.
