I have a question about the criteria for application. The guidance states that you have to be E6 or E7 but not above the cut for E8. What if you are above the cut for E6 but have not advanced yet. Can I still apply based on the fact I will advance NLT May 09.

OK, this statement concerns me. What makes you think this is a true statement?

I could have my months mixed though could it be June. At any rate I just need clarification on the requirement.

I'll let one of the other folks answer that part, but yes, the SWE list expires with the Jun Advancments. (although the cut is not a guarantee you will make it by then, you could be carried over. The cut simply means you will not have to take another SWE to advance to E-6)

It doesn't matter if you are above or below the cut.

You have to be an E-6 to apply.

Clear?

Yes, thank you. Guess I will have to pray to the advancement gods. And hope I advance before the deadline. Thank you.

acebuc, it kinda sucks but yeah you have to wait until you are tour complete at your next unit. I had planned to do the same thing, apply for my 2010 rotation date. However I was short toured due to advancement. Rotating in 09, got a 4 yr special assignment billet so I can't apply to CGIS until 2013 now. You must be E-6 when you submit your package and must be tour complete on the year of rotation you are applying for.
