It's a good book. Some of Crescent Securities guards were taken hostage in November after a firefight at a fake checkpoint. I dont think theyve been found yet.

On picture #3...
I have loaded enough "magazines" to last a lifetime. But can someone explain to me (being sarcastic) what the hell is a "banana clip?" |

The clip has a curved shape... hence the moniker "banana clip"

I take it you didn't understand what I mentioned when I wrote "being sarcastic." If this is a military informed site, then why aren't the civilians running this place learning proper military terms and jargon? For example, an AT-4 is not a bazooka, a round is not a bullet, Marines are not soldiers, magazines are not banana clips, etc, etc, etc.

Hollywood,
Your killing me over here! LOL I often wonder how many of these guys are ex Marines? Those such as Black Water are very skilled, they are almost scary guys, I'd hate to run across one of those guys! And to answer the above post, yes Cresent still has missing persons in Iraq Last video said they were located in Southern Iraq on a Farm, believe that was just this May 2007. Jennifer a family member told me they are having a benefit in Bufflo NY to help raise the Ramson, on Aug. 15 at a Local Bar there. Not sure if that helps, but had to let Hollywood know, I"m enjoying his post! |

True about Blackwater. I was given a job application and job description and they're using guys with eight years exp in Marine recon, SEALS, ex-Deltas, and other assorted spec ops teams.I was mostly curious what they wanted as I'm near fifty. My experience didn't come close. Maybe I could fly a desk...out the window. I was never good working behind desks Granted I was in a company years ago in a very little known war but Blackwater asking for ready trained military with that much experience and you're getting the best of the best with a heck of a lot of in country real training. These folks would scare the cr#p out of the devil himself... |

I worked for Crescent Security Group and can tell you that the book, (A Bloody Business), is full of bullshit! That idiot Scott couldn't conduct a raid on his own house much less a compound inside of Iraq...

The whole issue of private contractors fighting a war in Iraq is so much B.S. My son is an 82nd Airborne, in a Recon unit as a part of the 5/73rd Cav, in the Diyala Province.
These contractors are making, what 4,8,10 times, what my son makes, and he lays his life on the line day-in and day-out, not for the money, but for the honor to serve. If Crescent, Blackwater, KBR, Halliburton want to believe they are fighting the war then the companies that benefit from this war should be paying the bill. Let the friggin Oil Companies pay these soldiers-for-hire, and let the American people get on with really important issues like get our servicemen and women home, health care, poverty, bridges. Personally, if I was in my son's position, and a convoy came up to my checkpoint at 100 miles per hour, with no lights, I would fire first and ask questions never. All you money grubing sole-source contractors can go to hell (even though there are some valuable honorable people among you. Headhunter www.panthers-dad.blogspot.com |

A few choice comments that need addressing:
The ‘friendly fire’ incident was caught on vehicle mounted video cameras; the vehicles were crawling along, with police lights flashing and 4 way hazard light on. It was indiscriminate fire by over zealous American Military who caused the unnecessary death of Wolf Weiss. This subject is still 'being investigated' by the military, albeit not too much I would guess? Professional companies would not likely hire a person who dropped his weapon out of his car window, causing a round to be discharged which hit a security vehicle from another company on the other side of the road… and then continue driving without mentioning it or collecting the dropped weapon (this was later collected by his team leader from the driver of the other security vehicle). Just one of several negligent discharges and high level of incompetance which led to the article writer being fired! Fools are not tolerated, especially a fool who wants to handle weapons. But then again, I do not claim to have worked for millions of companies, for if I did, I would have to suspect the reason I get through so many jobs is due to my own inability to perform. Nice one! |
