Here is a job opening for SAIC/EMA Inc. located in Charleston, SC. They are looking for a highly motivated electronics technician to support SPAWAR Atlantic in the areas of both COMMS and RADAR.

Position: Electronic Technician III

Location: Charleston SC

Closing Date: 08/14/2009



Job Duties/Responsibilities: Candidate will support the C4I Charleston SC Division and will be responsible for troubleshooting, and maintaining shipboard/shore communication and radar systems. Additional responsibilities will include: verification testing and submitting final reports to both the customer and military representatives. This will be a full time position, but may be subject to overtime and travel based on ship/shore locations.



Education/Experience Requirement: High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of systems analysis experience in the design, development, or test and evaluation of C4ISR systems are required. Candidate must have formal electronics training from a technical school; Class A or B military school (USN / USCG preferred) in electronics, radar systems (SPS-73 and RADDS preferred) or completion of a four year electronics apprentice program. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret drawings of all types (assembly drawings, schematics, signal flow diagrams, etc.); be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; able to assemble electrical, electronic, machine, and mechanical parts using normal hand tools while following assembly drawings, schematic diagrams, standard procedures, and specific written and verbal instructions; and able to assemble MIL-SPEC cylindrical connectors, backshells, terminal boxes, and coaxial cable connections. USCG experience in troubleshooting and repairing USCG radar systems is a plus. Candidate must be able to work without distraction while under pressure in an integrated environment, both independently as well as on a team. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
