I went to FT A school at Yorktown, it was 6 months of troubleshooting. We learned to component level, needed a lot of math (and we weren't given formula sheets until AFTER the school was completed), and got more fundamentals on synchro/servo, RADAR, waveguide principle, RF propagation etc. . .
Let the C schools teach the actual systems, those schools would be easier if more T/S knowledge was gained at A school.

Believe it or not...electronic theory works the same in all equipment ...so a proficient tech with good basics should be able to pick up a manual and go...and not have to depend upon C schools to become familiar with equip... Strat sends...

ET school does teach some practical forms of TS, you just gotta remember it's not so much the course material that determines what get's taught, but the teacher. As a recent graduate, I found that most later classes emphasized the importance of TS procedures, especially ET1 Ismon in RT-9000, and ET1 Pearson in RF. Before that, not so much...they usually said, "Oh, you'll learn it better in the field."- and a lot of people got pushed through. BTW John, I'm doing good. Check your global e-mail sometime, I've sent you a message or two. How's the girls and Kodiak? I may come out there next year...It'd be awesome.
