I am thinking about going ET. I was wondering what type of duty stations there are? Cutters, stations or whatnot. I guess I am just trying to figure things out, I would appreciate some insight on ET as well.
There are Cutters, Electronic Support Detachments, a very small number of small boat stations have some, Loran Units and Security team units as well as some over seas in the middle east. There are many places you can go as an ET.
My detailer, CWO Thomas, called me yesterday with a question and told me not expect my orders until Feb. Grant you, I am priority 5. So the higher priority the faster the orders, I guess.
Well the detailers page says that ET orders are 95 percent done for 1,2,3's and I called the YN1 who was on duty and she says I am going to ESD Cape Cod so I am happy. Stinks when you dont know.

You have a different detailer, with a different timeline. Also, ESD Cape Cod is a nice place to work. I work around the corner, at the Commsta. Not sure about Massachusetts though. I am trying to make my escape ASAP.

I love how the ET E-4 thru E-6 AO put out a timeline and sends out updates to the field though. I'm sure it helps them to plan. I wish Mr. Thomas would do that.
I think the ET detailers do a pretty great job of keeping the ET members updated. The ET force notes is one of the few force notes documents that is updated on a regular basis.

IMHO of course.
No no. You're saying it all wrong.
What you do is say something to the effect that the detailer doesn't have the (fill in with a slang word that would call into question the detailer's manhood) to send me to (now here is where you would put in where you really wanted to go).
I remember a MK detailer saying for hiscustomers not to try to use that reverse physicology on him. But then 10 minutes later was telling people to be polite to his YN3 or he'd send them to their least desired billet.
You do realize that reverse psychology just encourages people to believe that you (collective you) don't mean what you (again with the collective you) say.
Still waiting on the AAIWSM selection panel results. My only concern is my other choices are already off the shopping list, (NAVCEN West and ALL instructor positions at Petaluma). I'm curious if there is a contingency plan, (ie: am I slated for one of my other pics), if I am not selected for the AAIWSM.
The first half of the school is or rather was worth going through. You actually learn alot. But the instructors that taught those lessons just quit, so I don't know who they have teaching those parts now. The second half is pretty much a waste of time. You could sleep through the whole second half and would learn just as much. The navy people really treat you like **** but the marines were cool with the coasties. I would suggest doing PT with the marines and they will get your back. It actually wasn't that bad just dealing with the Navy on a daily basis sucks ***.

Are you the ET that got selected for the school? I'm also on the list so if that is you maybe we will meet in school.
