When I went to ET "A" School I had no training about anything ET related. I think its best to keep it that way if you havent had training yet. The guys in my class that had some "ET" knowledge struggled a bit due to learning it different prior. Like I said, I had no ET type training prior and I ended up with the highest average in my class. Just pay attention and study and you will do just fine.
I will probably see you there as I am going there end of July to be an instructor for the next 4 years. Good luck with school.

The ET reading list has, amoung others, Shraders Electronics Communications and the NEETs volumes as references.
You can get the NEETS volumes from davidson college online.
Look over the PQS for ET3 and you will see what your in for ...

NEETS modules would be a good place to start. Especially the different formulas for solving capacitance and impedance. I had no knowledge of electronics when I went to FT school and it was definately a rough first month to understand the basics. If you have a grasp of ohms law and electronic theory, then you will be a leg up on most of everyone else.

personnally, i wouldnt read neets if you havent had any training. they add alot more information than et school. it might overwhelm you. et school cuts out alot of the useless info and gets right down to business. go to your esd by ur station and ask the ETs there if they kept their study booklets the school gave them. i kept mine but im in alameda.

Go ahead and read NEETS. Then ask questions if you have them. Some of the navy's administrative details may not be pertinent to the CG, but, electronics is electronics, whether it's gun-fire, navigation, communications, or broadcasting.
There are plenty of forums you can get answers to your questions ... like (allaboutcircuits.com)
If you have the scores to qualify for ET school, you should understand the NEETS books. And since it appears you own a computer, go to Texas Instruments and download TI-TINA, a free simulation software or you can just search for TI-TINA.
Google is your friend on alot of topics.
