I'm sad. I thought the early afloat slate would be out the week of 01 JUN. Maybe this week.

Olmo and all,
Thank you for your interest in the AY10 ET Early Afloat Solicitation. Unfortunately, I need to send a retraction through the Master Chief network. Feel free to pass this info to your shipmates. My plan to release the message last week is flawed. Here's why: When I relieved CWO Millson in 2006, he initiated the AY07 solicitation and remained at PSC until AUG due to his selection for ACET. He sent the message and collected all applicable e-mails. I made the assignment decisions in AUG 2006 from the e-mail archive he passed to me after I reported. This will not work this year. I am detaching on 19 JUN. My replacement, CWO Piontek, will not report until 26 JUN. Even if I put his name and address on the message (and I will), there's too much of a risk that e-mail submissions may be lost during his transition between units. Sure, experts may say data loss is unlikely. But who wants to risk replying to a message this week and having it get lost next week? As a result, I'm going to request the RMFC to post a new timeline for the ET Early Afloat Solicitation. I'm going to get the message drafted and ready to release. I'll pass it down to CWO Piontek to release when his e-mail account is established at PSC. I think late in the week of 29 JUN is a very realistic release date for this message. The submission deadline will likely be 24 JUL, maybe the 31st. This will still give plenty of time for afloat selections to happen prior to the release of the regular shopping list in SEP. My apologies for not expecting this sooner and keeping you better informed. The potential snag didn't come to my attention until recently. I prefer to err on the side of caution so no one is cheated out of an assignment opportunity. Sincerely, CWO Farrell This message has been edited. Last edited by: StealthTDI, |

Thank you very much for the response sir. I'll be keeping an eye out at the end of the month for the message.

Sir, On the detailers web page, you stated that the "Spare Techs" would be receiving possible fleet-up orders by 16 June. Is it at all possible for those "Spare Techs" to submit for AY 2010 Early Afloat?

What happened to this message? It seems the "revised" timeline of 29JUN has come and gone. Did I miss something?

I think I've been anticipating this more than I did the SWE cuts. I hope the new detailer gets it out soon.

The new E-4 to E-6 detailer responded to me via e-mail and stated that he just got CGMS access on Friday 10JUL09 and that he would try to release it that day, but if there were problems he would release it early in the week of 13JUL09.

Bump.
The latest Force Notes suggest he'll try emailing us mid-October, but I might have read this incorrectly. Any input or new news? |

Kornesque,
You read it correctly. I read that you are E-6 and I am an E-5. So we are not looking at the same shopping list but where all did you ask for ET1? |
