OK. How'd everybody do? I haven't checked mine yet, but didn't see a thread for this yet. I'll post mine when I get it.

It'll be interesting to see how many ET2's took it with the sea time waived.

Hello,

I cannot speculate on rankings for the lists; nor answer any questions here about the outcome of those above future cuts. But I will say this:

ET1 SWE - 99 eligible ET2s... 96 took the SWE

ET2 SWE - 146 eligible ET3s... 130 took the SWE

MAY 08 was a good test for an easy advancement. November brings back COMPETITION! Time will tell if those with sea time rise toward the top of the list or if those with no sea duty are bright enough to advance over their seagoing peers.

Good Luck!

My ET1 said I should be checking direct access today, but then my ETC said we probably won't see the scores until January!

Welcome to the waiting and waiting and waiting game!

87 without cracking a book. Hope that makes it. Guess I'll make time to study for May if it doesn't.

This may not be true at all but I heard there are a lot of "dinosaur" points lurking around... Are these as advantageous as sea duty points?

And historically (or at least the past two years) the list has come out the week before Xmas. Please correct me if I am wrong...

From what I saw on PSC's web site time in service is worth 2 points per year with a max of 30 points. Sea time is 1 point per six months but harder to come by than just being in service. I know of the four people at my unit that took the service wide we have between 6 and 12 years time in service.

Correct me if I am wrong but time in rate is one point per year, so between TIR and TIS they can do a lot more than sea time.

As far as when the list comes out I can't say for sure but PSC lists profile letters will be out by January.

Also irenemichelle I haven't seen a RAW score for you posted yet.

Sea time is 2 pts per year, maxing out at 30 pts. TIS is 1 pt per year, maxing out at 20 pts. TIG is 2 pts per year maxing out at 10 pts. Theres also 10 pts for awards. Sea time can make a considerable difference as you can see. Since they waived sea time for ET1 though, I'm guessing most people won't have many points in that category.

Harrison, thanks for correcting me. I apparently went dyslexic and mixed up what numbers where what.

This is copied from PSC, should have done this the first time.

Servicewide Exam
Point credit based on the Total Test percentage when compared to the AVERAGE SCORE of all SWEs for that rate/rank. Maximum credit is 80 points.
Performance factor
Point credit based on your performance factor average. Maximum credit is 50 points.
Time in service
Point credit based on 1 point/year figured to the Terminal Eligibility date, listed above. Maximum credit is 20 points.
Time in Present Paygrade
Point credit based on 2 points/year figured to the Terminal Eligibility days, listed above. Maximum credit is 10 points.
Medals/Awards
Point credit based on type of award. See the table in the CG Personnel Manual, 5.C.3.b.3 for list/point totals for creditable awards. Maximum credit is 10 points.
Creditable Sea Duty Points
Point credit is based on cumulative sea time computed through 1 Feb for the May SWE and 1 Aug for the Nov SWE. If a member is receiving sea pay they are earning sea time points. Accrual starts 1 Feb 94 with a maximum credit of 30 points.
