what's up matt? drew at ft. macon. the way the msg reads and from what i've heard from a buddy who applied last year, they grab the AETs first, then move onto ETs. i'm sure there's some exceptions, but it seems to be the general rule.
Matt, apply for the program… it is a great opportunity!
Not only did I go to ACET (as an ETC) but I later ran the program as an LT (CWO to LT) as the Force Manager. Things might have changed since I ran the things, but we took the BEST people regardless of race, color, creed, or RATING. The best made it… period. As I wrote, things may have changed, but don’t let what others say sway you from applying. Apply for the darn thing or you will never get it!
Thanks for the info. I'm just waiting for my pretest score. I've already put my e resume in and will submit my letter as soon as the pretest results come back.
Do you happen to know about attending as a geo-Bachelor and BAH protection?
Anything I could tell you would be old news... I retired in 1998. But get the program first and then worry about the rest. It is well worth any discomfort you may encounter.
I attended AAIWSM from Oct 05 to may of 06. It was being revamped and the Marines were taking ove teaching. 1 of the instructors there now went to class with me.
Your chances are usually very good if you wish to attend. You must be tour complete the year you want to go and pass the pre exam test which is basic algerbra. Normally they cannot get enough people to attend for the slots they have.
If you have any questions you an email me at marc.h.blecman@uscg.mil
a few links that might help you. Search NATTC Pensacola and look for the B school link for AAIWSM.
