WOW only 49 ET's trying to make first on this SWE. i thought i was going to see at least 70+ people taking it.

after the last revised cuts for the May 07 SWE that only leaves 29 on the Nov 07 list. BTW does anyone know when they have been starting to advance ET1's off of the Nov SWE list in the past?

I see that you are due to advanace to E-6 off that list...so let me ask you a question...Would someone who would be gaining a supervisory position need to know the SWE process for not only themselves...but the personnel they may be in charge of? The answer is there for you to find and I think that it may be a good idea for you to read up and become a little more knowledgeable on the subject matter.

Actually my question is asking when they have been starting to advance off of the Nov list's NOT when they are suppose to start. if im not mistaken they are suppose to start 01 July (i could be wrong and correct me if i am) but im not worried about that date i am just curious to know what months they have actually started advancing in the past. i also know that they can start advancing early off the list if an early advancement message comes out or take longer to advance off of that SWE if the previous SWE cuts were set to high. i would also try and find out myself but since i am currently underway its almost impossable to look anything up so i figured i would come here to see if i could get a fellow ET to help me out but i guess not.

The only way they would start to advance before 01July, is if they exhausted the entire ET1 May07 list. If by 01July, they have not advanced to the May 07 list cut, they will still have to keep advancing off that list until they hit that number.
Unfortunately the way things are going with advancements presently, it might take them a while to get to your list. We are all in a holding pattern, so you are not alone.

I know how the advancement process works but what I don’t know is when they actually started advancing off of the November list and not when they are suppose to start. What I am trying to figure out is what month or months they actually started advancing people off of the November SWE over the past few years and if they have started later like say August, September or October due to deep cuts on the May list. Anyways I figured that I would ask on here because I have known a few ET’s that keep track of things like advancement numbers and trends for every month going back several years.

Now your getting a little more specific. Your looking to see when they have been starting to advance off the Nov List, when the May cuts have yet to be cleared by 01July. That is hard to say. You can't tell by just looking at the advancement msg. It won't say if they are working off the May or Nov list. Someone will either have to know, from first hand knowledge or by taking both lists and compare them to the msgs the last few years. If you know ETs that have that kind of information, why don't you just email them directly?

If you don't know when or how you advance, maybe you shouldn't. I feel really sorry for your subordinates that you advance quick because, you don't know the requirements.

Chief, I think your missing the point of the conversation. Everyone here knows the requirements, there was just a question from LiquidDragon, on Stats of when they have actually been advancing the ET1s' in the past. And, since advancements have not really begun for the ET1/ETC May 07, what will be the likelihood the ET1 Nov08 will actually start on 1July. Not likely. It's a bit of a meaningless question, since advancements happen when they happen. Past history is not the rule this year; so it seems.

But I agree with you. I keep hearing policy questions from upcoming E-6s'. They should know the answers to such questions, or at the least know how to look them up.
