I have received a SC for PTSD. At the time I discussed my symptoms and such with the C&P Examiner, I told her of the sexual assault which took place against me, and it was included in her report, but the RO did not use it as part of the final decision.
I have been screened by the VA's MST program and have a bonafide claim. I am beginning group and personal therapy to help deal with this. It's all documented.
I already had PTSD at the time the event occurred, due to military severely aggravating the situation, so the MST is secondary.
My question is:
Is MST part of the PTSD claim,
Is MST a separate claim on its own,
Is MST a secondary claim to the primary PTSD?
I have a representative from the TVC that says to appeal the PTSD for its inclusion. But I have also been told it's its own claim, and it's a secondary. Which way do I go?
Kinda shy about this

he will answer or get you an answer
I myself had a very good experience with the TVC, I hope you do too.
I'm not sure if MST is an illness, or is it the reason for the PTSD stressor and diagnosis? If MST is an illness or injury, if its a mental condition, you will only be rated on one mental illness not two; just the more serious mental illness even though you may have two.

There is a topic on Military Sexual Trauma on PTSD Info & Links http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/4230026980001
PTSD and MST are both mental health issues. You can complete a form, VAF 21-0781a "Statement in Support of Claim for service connection for PTSD secondary to personal trauma", that will state the cercumstances of the MST. The VA would not rate it though because they will only rate one mental health disability. They could use the MST to determine the severity of the PTSD you are now service connected for.
