Had a question about going to the doctors.. Im 80% and its hard for me to get to and from our VA hospitals to be treated they are a long way from home. So do I have to go to the VA hospital for free treatment? Or if I went to a local hospital do I have to pay? how does this work?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if there is an emergency and it is one of your service disabilities and if you notify VA right away then VA might take care of it. Steve
Well here is what im getting at.. I was told because im 80% me and my family would recieve free medical. Now if my wife were to get pregnant would she have to go to the VA hospital? or for common things like the flu? Or would they even cover it? My problem is I live so far from the VA Hospital it just to far to go for something like that..
Tired of having to prove everything I have wrong with me! I have put in another claim that the VA (C&P board told me to file claim) knew I had, but treated me as though I didn’t have the injury! This board and the VA hospital has ALL of my HREC’s, visits, tests, EVERYTHING! BUT…now they want me to prove AGAIN that I received this injury while in service…! I have been seen for this injury at the VA clinic and hospital and by the Army…I am at the point, where I just don’t care any more! F’em all…they are making me feel like a beggar, a liar, and a criminal! I just should have been killed in iraq…it would have solved the VA problems I want to quit so bad the VA…and the Bullcrap so bad I can see it. I fight tooth and nail and what do I get…? 20 years service and family sacrifice…for what? VA “free” health care…? To be treated like a POS…I think not.

If you are not retired on disability (or time) you have to be 100% SC P&T to get dependent health care via a program called Champva. Champva is a fee for service health insurance plan paid for by the VA. Your dependent can pretty much use any Tricare or Medicare doctor. at 80% only you get health care from the VA.

Thats not what I was told.. I was told Me and my family get free health care. Along with free tuition to any university or college in my state. With many other things. So I was lied to your saying?

I’M TIRED
Well I dont think your ranting has anything to do with this my post. If you got hurt in the Army im sure there are medical records stating this. So whats the issue?? You get hurt the medic comes and the medic does paper work and it goes directly into your medical records..

Are you sure you are rated 80%. Are you rate IU - Individual unemployable? Do you receive in over $2,000 a month? Did you receive a letter that told you these things? You talk about a state school - is this a state benefit - some state do have these things?
The only thing that counts is a letter from the VA telling you that your family is eligible for Champva and education benefits. You and your family must apply for Champva. Have you received this letter? Have you applied and been approved?
Someone telling you something is not enough. Always get it in writing and make sure all the paperwork is done.
You are correct dave, The form the local VA sent me about my benifits is false. They must have goofed.. what a joke.. Every other source of info says exactly what you told me. Now I have to see if I can get rated at 100%
