I am currently in the process of re-enlisting into the Army. I was honorably discharged due to medical issue. I have been out of the Army for 5 years and I'm in the process of getting a medical waiver for my knee injury. I receive VA Disability at 30%. I want to know if once I re-enlist during my wait period before I go to basic will I still receive my VA disability during that time or will it go away once I go to MEPS? It's my only source of income. This message has been edited. Last edited by: OldArmyLove,
It will cease when you are officially back on active duty, not before.

I have heard from several sources that when I go to MEPS I will be denied because I will be receiving disability benefits and that I will have to sign a waiver stating that I am no longer disabled and have to turn it into the VA before MEPS will allow me to continue. Which means my disability payments will stop before I ship off. Is this statement incorrect?
