Hi everyone,
We just pcs'd to Ft Campbell and I'd like advice on finding entry-level accounting work (or any decent paying work)while pursuing my CPA license. I've taken one out of four sections of the CPA exam and studying for the others. I have a BBA degree in accounting but no experience. I've applied with the "Big 4" and other larger firms hoping to have access to a nationwide network of office locations (unfortunately no job offers to report). Now, I just want to gain the experience hours needed to obtain my license while I study and take the other CPA Exam sections. Are there any Army/military wife CPAs out there? How has the military lifestyle affected your career? For what it's worth, I'm open to job leads outside of accounting in the Ft Campbell/Clarksville/Nashville/Hopkinsville areas to keep my resume fresh. I have plenty of clerical, sales & retail experience. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

You also may want to consider outsourcing firms. Those that do business process outsourcing and application outsourcing also employ accountants. If you don't know of any, you can email me through military.com and I can give you some possible job ideas.

Mturnb,

Thank you for your ideas. Unfortunately, I encountered problems trying to email you. However, someone on post suggested I visit ACS FERP (Family Employment Readiness Program). They gave me some guidance and quite a list of resources. I am still open to any additional ideas because you never know which one will lead to a job offer. Thank you again for your response!

I probably should have said to email me through my profile. If you have been trying to reach me through mturnb@military.com then that is what the problem is because that address does not exist.

If you have tried through my profile and it is not working, just let me know. I can point you in the direction of some outsourcing firms.
