I am a service connected vet and my husband has just gotten approved for military spouses grant.

Since we live in the Ozarks he would like to try online schooling but we have talked to a lot of "used car dealers" who pose as "counselors".

If any of you have used a spouses military scholarship and used it on line could you please tell me your experiences.

Also, my hubby is a Vietnam Vet who used his GI Bill in 1972 would he be able to qualify for grants?

I.E. Does the money cover all of the costs? Did you pay the school or did the va/military? What about grants? Loans?

When we lived overseas I used UMUC online. I liked it but I have heard (not personally but anecdotally) of people having problems with them.

I am considering getting my masters from AMU (American Miliary University). The credit hour prices seem quite reasonable. I can get a MS for about $10K. I'd pay more than that in childcare and gas to study at the brick and mortar college 30 miles from my home.

There is a site called onlinedegreereviews where people can leave reviews and comments about online schools. If you can filter the comments keeping in mind that they are personal opinions and not necessarily fact, you might find it helpful.

I don't know exactly where you are in the Ozarks, but Columbia College out of Columbia, MO has several locations, online programs, and is very military friendly. Mizzou also has MU Direct which has all their online programs and I think it's wonderful! I'm almost halfway through my Master's with them and I am very happy. I would assume they'd be relatively military friendly.
